Conductivity meter

An electrical instrument that measures the electrical conductivity in a solution. Measured in ohms.

HPLC

High-pressure liquid chromatography An instrument used to separate a mixture of compounds using chromatography in order to identify and calculate percent quantity.

Lab Balance

Scales measure the weight of objects in a large range. Common lab scales are on a bench top and are calibrated to weigh objects from 1000 Kilo-grams to a few Micro-grams. Printers are attached to generate a record of weights which will be attached to the batch record for proper GMP documentation.

Peristaltic Pump

This type of pump transfers fluids through tubing with the use of rollers or lobes to compress the tubing and force the fluid forward.

pH meter

An electronic instrument used to measure the pH (acidity or alkalinity) of a substance.

A photometer used for the measurement of the absorbance of light in solutions, gases, or transparent or opaque solids, such as polished glass. Typically used at 280nm to determine the concentration of proteins related to antibody production.
